The Project FAIR Help Desk is purely volunteer run. Many volunteers staff shifts at the Help Desk with the approval of their organizations or law firms, or on their free time.  Before staffing a shift at the Help Desk, all volunteers must attend our Basic Fair Hearing Advocacy Training, become familiar with the Volunteer User Manual and sign a confidentiality agreement.  New volunteers will be asked to “second seat” more seasoned volunteers for several shifts before being able to staff a shift alone. Most shifts have two advocates present but may have up to four, depending on the time of year.
